The Hummingbird

Hummingbirds are distinctly small birds. Their size varies between that of a bumblebee and a swallow. Most species reach a length of 7 to 13 cm. Fortunately, this metallic hummingbird is a bit bigger, because it deserves to be seen. Hummingbirds specialize in sucking nectar from flowers, but many species also eat insects. In the meantime, they hang still in the air and beat their wings rapidly up and down. Exactly what this metallic hummingbird is doing: collecting a snack.

Material properties of Corten steel

Our metal birds are made of weather-resistant corten steel, this material will, over time, get a characteristic rusty brown color due to the oxide layer that forms. This oxide layer protects the underlying material all year round. This way, this metal Hummingbird will be protected for years.
